Missouri Permits CBD-Infused Alcohol In First Cold Brew Drink With Cannabidiol

Hogshead Kansas City’s executive chef Clark Grant recently started looking into he possibility of CBD-infused cocktails. As he explains, the beverages are “something that our guests want. And the people of Kansa City want.” Grant is not the only one looking into CBD products for customers.

Kansas City Roasteries also recently launched a cold-brew beverage with a twist. The product is infused with CBD oil.

As Craig Park, the buyer for the coffee business, stated,

“We were expecting to put this out and by the summer this would be a really good product. We launched the product and that day people were coming into this café and all of our cafes and buying it by the dozen.”

The Farm Bill passed in Missouri and as a law, questions have arisen as to whether CBD products are permitted in alcohol and other beverages.

The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control recently released a statement, stating that it has,

“no legal authority to bar the use of CBD oil in combination with alcohol beverages as long as the oil contains no THC. If the CBD oil has no THC content, it would be considered the same as any other nonalcoholic product.” In addition, the opinion stated that “there are a lot of unanswered questions since the legalization of CBD as it relates to tetrahydrocannabinol.”
